A SMALL CITY DOING BUSINESS IN A BIG WAY . . .





WATER EMERGENCY DECLARED

Vegatble garden watering is allowed on Sunday afternoons after 6:00 p.m.

The City of Abbotsford has imposed mandatory outdoor water usage restrictions on all water users in the City of Abbotsford.  The restrictions shall apply to all properties using city water.  Restrictions are for all days of the week.  The criteria for this  mandatory restriction is to:
  • To avoid undue stress upon the resources and reserve capacity of the water utility.
  • To avoid sustained low pressure.
  • To maintain reservoir levels sufficient to provide adequate fire protection.
  • To compensate for loss of one or more wells.
Until further notice, any outdoor water usage shall be prohibited, such as but not limited to: 
  • car washing
  • watering of grass/gardens/plants
  • filling of swimming pools
  • outdoor water games
Any person, owner or occupant who violates this mandatory restriction on water usage issued, or fails to comply with any of its requirements, shall upon conviction thereof, be subject to a forfeiture of not less than $20.00 nor more than $1000.00.  Each day such violation continues shall be considered a separate offense.
